Craigslist founder bashes old media
"Newmark said that the mainstream media isn't trustworthy, nor accountable to the public any longer. And he suggests that emerging community journalists on the Internet should counterbalance the short-sightedness of publishers that kow-tow to big business or powerful political interest groups." You're assuming the "bashing" part was reported accurately...

Wow, I'm honoured! A posting from the great man himself, the eponymous Mr. Craigslist. I'm amazed you found this blog, but I guess it just goes to show once again the scale of this information revolution. As for your comment specifically, I admit to using "bash" as a good old bit of tabloidese (UK newspaper-speak for punchy rather than pedantic headlines). I *think* I have been accurate to the gist of what they said, but if what they said is not what you said, then, well, I guess it just goes to show how inadequate old media is!! So either way, the mainstream media doesn't come out well. But I'd be delighted to hear more from you about what you really meant. Thanks again for taking the time.
Thanks! but fer sure, I'm no big deal.
The problem was with the initial reporting, really.
